Before and Afters
Home Staging is the art of decorating a home to sell quickly and for top dollar. It may be as simple as rearranging what you already have or as complex as bringing in new furniture, accessories and art. Most projects lie somewhere between these two extremes. Here are some recent projects of transformations!

Journey to Transformation
BEFORE-Living Room
Problems: too many furniture pieces, Christmas decorations still out in April, unattractive window treatment, clutter, blocked traffic flow.

AFTER- Living Room
Solutions: Eliminate extra loveseat which opens the room and now draws you in, pack away holiday decorations, remove unattractive window treatment, rearrange chair and ottoman to create a cozy reading area on the opposite side of the room and work with traffic flow, get rid of clutter, use two matching height lamps, add pillows and throw for interest and texture, bring in client accessories, rearrange hutch position which was hidden behind the loveseat, create a focal point when entering from dining room by bringing in a console and framed art (on wall behind loveseat to be hung). The room appears more spacious and welcoming!

BEFORE- Living Room Redesign
Problems: typical (boring) furniture placement against wall, chairs blocking both entries into room, cluttered with many accessories, curtains too bland.

AFTER - Living Room Redesign
Solutions: Eliminate extra chairs, which were blocking entryways and traffic flow; angled furniture for more interest and to draw visitors into the room from the front entryway; eliminated extra accessories; added a rug under the coffee table to give it weight and anchor it in the room; bring in some contrasting pillows; place console table behind sofa; brought purple curtains in from adjoining room to bring more focus to framing windows.

BEFORE - LIVING ROOM REDESIGN
Problems: Too many pieces of furniture for a small room (2 couches, 6 chairs, 1 piano and several accent pieces!), no wall decorations, bad placement of piano in front of door, mismatched couches and chairs, no curtains, no cohesive design/personality.

AFTER - LIVING ROOM REDESIGN
Solutions: The owner wanted to keep some furniture and buy some new items. We started with the color scheme-blue, grey, white and pops of yellow. I dressed up this space with a sleek, sophisticated decor that is ready to impress. One couch and the piano were the 'must-stays'. Adding a new storage ottoman, chair, entry console. corner bookshelf, new lamps, curtains, area rug, and wall hangings made the room cohesive. Moving the piano to the opposite side of the room opened up the entryway and gave a proper focal point. New accent pieces brought more color and elegance to the room. What was once a crowded space, is now a balanced, stylish and welcoming room to spend time in!
